Fred Hammond. Pioneered urban contemporary gospel. Started as a bass player for the Winans before forming the Commissioned, one of the first gospel groups to fuse r&b and gospel seamlessly. His solo career made him a fixture in gospel. Wrote songs that the entire church sang on Sunday morning.
