The Blind Boys of Alabama. One of the longest-running gospel groups in American history. Formed at the Alabama Institute for the Negro Blind in 1939. Most members were visually impaired -- hence the name. Won five Grammys, performed for presidents, and outlasted nearly every group from their era.
